Love is what I aspire to have in all my relationships with people. And a true model of what love is comes from the example that I have in my parents. Yesterday was their 37th Wedding Annivesary and my family and I got together to celebrate such a special day.
They were married on September 10th, 1977 and have raised my 3 brothers and sister and I with core values and beliefs that have shaped our lives and have given us the moral fiber necessary to live in an honest life.
I have seen many examples of how my parents are so dedicated to each other and how they have gotten through tough times together when they needed each other the most. They cherish each other, and accept who they really are with no masks. They express their true feelings which always helps their communication grow and makes their bond even stronger. They are a real testament to what true love is and I am forever grateful to them for the meaning they have given to me of the word love.
My intention with this blog post is to speak of the inspiration that my parents have given me throughout my life as to what true love is. True love is not just a feeling, its a decision. One that you make everyday to love and cherish the people in your life. True love is self-less and loyal in all things. True love runs deep and has no limits or barriers. True love is eternal and crosses all boundaries. True love comes from the Divine who makes it possible for us all to have loving relationships with each other.
Thank you God and thank you mom and dad for everything you have taught me about love. It is because of you that I have so much hope in my life and the ability to love others just as you have loved each other.
